Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Airfresh Wash 500

Airfresh Wash 500

  • Can distilled water be used for humidification?

As a rule, it is possible to use distilled water, but it is not required.

  • How does the humidification display on the Airfresh Hygro and Airfresh Wash 500 work?

The humidifier and the air washer are equipped with an integrated air humidity sensor. The actual humidity of 20% RH to 95% RH is shown on the Display.

  • The device does not work.

Please check that the Airfresh Wash 500 is connected to a power supply.
Ensure there is water in the water tank and that the tank is correctly installed.

  • There is a clicking sound when the device is in operation.

Check that the cleaning drum is installed properly.
Check whether there are any calcium carbonate deposits

  • How can I ensure optimal levels of hygiene with the Airfresh Wash 500?

Daily maintenance: Fill the tank only with clean water.
Every 10–14 days: Clean the casing of the Airfresh Hygro 500 with a slightly damp cloth.
Useful cleaning tips: Use a solution made from water and vinegar, at a ratio of 1:1, or vinegar essence at a ratio of 3:1. Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaning products.

  • How many hours can you operate the purifier for before the filter need replacing?

The filter should be replaced by a new one after 1,000 operating hours. The filter change display (FILTER RESET) begins to flash automatically once the 1,000 hours have been reached. Only use original Soehnle filters!

  • How is the water tank in the Wash 500 kept free from germs?

Fill the tank with clean water daily. Clean the bottom compartment with warm water and a soft cloth every 10–14 days. Do not leave water in the bottom compartment for extended periods. Water left in the Airfresh Wash 500 can lead to mineral deposits and can create conditions that are conducive to the growth of unwanted micro-organisms.

  • Water is coming out of the tank.

Ensure the tank lid is screwed down properly.

  • What is the ideal operating time for the Air Washer?

The optimal operating time depends on your personal requirements. In general, the longer the device is in operation, the better it cleans and humidifies the air.

  • Can the device be left running 24 hours a day?

Yes, the device is suitable for continuous operation.

  • How does the Airfresh Wash 500 work?

    1.      Contaminated air is drawn in. Large particles, such as hair, dust and even odours and other smaller particles such as fine dust, are filtered out using the replaceable pre-filter, EPA filter and activated carbon filter
    2.      The air is passed into a cleaning drum that rotates in water. This cleans the air, and the smallest particles are trapped in the water
    3.      The Airfresh Wash 500 blows the clean air out evenly and, at the same time, the room climate is humidified with the help of Evaporation Technology. In this way, the product is able to provide comfortable and hygienic air purification for your home

  • The humidifier is not effective.

There can be various reason for why the humidifier is only working to a limited extent, or even not at all. Before the humidity can be distributed into the room, a part of it will first be absorbed by wallpapers and wood. For this reason, it may take some time before the desired level of humidity is reached. However, it may also be that there is a technical error. Please check that the filter is clean and correctly fitted. In addition, please make sure that the room is not larger than the maximum size specified (for the Hygro 500 this is 50 m² and for the Wash 500 it is 30 m²) and that the room is not being aired too much (close the windows and doors).
